The CM574-RS is a communication module designed for the ABB AC500 series PLC platform. It is used to add two configurable serial ports (RS-232/RS-485) to the system and supports user-programmed protocols via the CPU’s serial interfaces.
SPECIFICATION
Two independent serial channels (COM1 & COM2) that can each be configured for RS-232 or RS-485.
Flexible protocol support (not fixed to one standard) – you can implement your own or standard protocols via the PLC software.
Dual-port memory interface for communication with the CPU, enabling cyclic and acyclic data transfer.
Designed for industrial automation environments: supports IP20 rating, wide ambient temperature range (see datasheet) and conforms to EMC/industrial standards.
